Online, Kathmandu, Apr. 19: The ruling parties have inched closer to an agreement
on electoral coordination among them at the local levels, particularly the metropolitan
and sub-metropolitan cities.
According to
Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, government spokesperson and Minister for
Communications and Information Technology, the meeting of the top leaders of
the ruling alliance held today went positively and reached closer to a conclusion
on seat sharing in the local level election slated for May 13.
The meeting held
at the Prime Minister's official residence at Baluwatar went for four hours.
"The
meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister and it went on for
some hours. Views have been put forth from different angles and all the views
have moved forward positively," said Minister Karki after the meeting.
The meeting
was centered on six metropolitan cities and 11 sub-metropolitan cities.
Earlier, on
Monday, it was reported that the ruling parties were close to agreement on the
issues and that they were likely to make an agreement on Tuesday.
