Kavrepalanchowk, Feb 27: The Road Division Office Bhaktapur has terminated the contract of under-construction Dhulikhel-Khawa road section along the Araniko Highway. In a public notice issued today, the office informed that the contract for the four-kilometer road, which is under expansion, has been canceled. A meeting of the office held on Tuesday had decided to terminate the contract of the road. Gauri Parbati Construction Service Pvt Ltd was awarded the contract for the construction of the road from Dhulikhel to Khawa, the district headquarters, for Rs 201.946 million. The construction could not be completed even after 11 months of the deadline due to delay in the construction by the contractor company. (RSS)

Damauli (Tanahun), Feb 27: The task of opening 'track' of the alternative road of Muglin-Narayangadh section has started. The opening of the track (Muglin-Gaighat-Dasdhunga-Thimura-Gaindakot road) has started as an alternative route. In this connection, the Department of Roads has allocated Rs 26.93 million for the project in the current fiscal year. Work is underway to open the track of the road from Abukhaireni rural municipality-4, Pulzeep in Tanahun district. The Department of Roads (DoR) has awarded the contract for the first phase of the road linking Muglin with Gaindakot of Nawalpur via Gaighat, Dasdhunga, Thimura and Devpur of Devghat Keshav Chandra Neupane, a local of Devghat, said the government has listened to the demands raised by the locals time and again for the construction of an alternative route. Locals had demanded an alternative road connecting Dasdhunga via British Camp of Gaidakot Municipality-3 and Deupur of Devghat Rural Municipality-5 in Nawalpur and an alternative route from Dasdhunga to Muglin on the banks of Trishuli towards Tanahun. Devghat rural municipality chair Til Bahadur Thapa said Devghat would take initiative for the construction of the road. Devghat rural municipality is not touched by the national highway at present, he said, expressing the belief that the road from Gaindakot to Dasdhunga via Devghat if constructed would bring religious touristic opportunities in the pilgrimage site.
