KMC organising competition to document Indra Jatra
For the first time, Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has launched a video documentary challenge for youths to document Indra Jatra. To create an integrated programme to promote the festival, various events are being organised this year with agencies and partners, including Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Lalitpur Metropolitan City, Kirtipur Municipality, Bhaktapur Municipality, Nepal Tourism Board, Nepal Art Council, Hotel Association Nepal, UNESCO Creative Cities Network, and Kathmandu City of Film. Nabin Manandhar, Spokesperson of KMC, announced that during Indra Jatra, there will be video documentary challenges.
Shooting of Ram Krishna Dhakal’s film Malati Mangale begins
The shooting of the Nepali film ‘Malati Mangale’ has officially begun in Tanahun with an auspicious start. The inauguration was held at Dhorbarahi Temple in Shuklagandaki Municipality. The Shuklagandaki Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed the film unit. The film is being produced by popular singer Ram Krishna Dhakal.

Lumbini, Gandaki agree to work together
A nine-point agreement has been reached for the joint development of Lumbini and Gandaki Provinces. On Monday, a joint Chief Minister-level meeting held at Galyang-1 Khanda in Syangja on the border of the two provinces pledged to make inter-provincial cooperation more effective. Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya and Gandaki Province Chief Minister Surendra Raj Pandey signed the agreement.
4G service reaches remote villages in Lamjung
Remote villages of Lamjung district now have access to high-speed 4G internet and mobile services following Nepal Telecom’s network expansion. The Nepal Telecom Authority carried out the expansion work under the special initiative of the Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung. The GSM-based 4G service has been extended to the villages, including Sanjapu, Udipur Dam Site, Manange Chautara, Bhirpastun and Okhri.

Tourist arrivals surge by 22%
International visitors' arrivals in Nepal have increased significantly in the month of August this year. According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), a total of 88,680 international visitors entered Nepal in the month of August, 2025.
