Siddheshwari Basic School at Budhinanda Municipality-9 in Dapka, Bajura district, has started operating as a residential school. Since the main occupation of the municipality inhabitants in wards 7, 8, 9, and 10 is rearing sheep and goats, they have the tradition of going to the lowlands with their livestock during winter and retuning home after the onset of summer. Tulabahudar Rawat, principal of the school, said that locals take their children with them to lowlands, so no child comes to school throughout the winter. In an effort to make the children attend school even during winter, the school has started providing hostel facilities, he added. Principal Rawat said that after operating the school as a residential from this year, the children will be able to attend school regularly even in winter and that there would be no disruption in their education.
Although physical infrastructure was constructed in a school of the district to run classes of multi-technical education two years ago, classes have not begun yet. The building was constructed on the premises of Mansarobar Namuna Secondary School in the financial support of the Karnali Province government. But, no additional subjects related to technical stream have been introduced even after two years, Amar Bahadur Shahi, the headmaster of Mansarovar Model Secondary School, said. According to Shahi, the building was constructed to start classes of engineering stream. But it cannot operate the course in lack of affiliation for that. Dharmaraj Bohara, chief engineer of the Social Development Office, informed that four buildings were constructed at a cost of Rs.12,000,000. The total budget includes DPR preparation, provincial government grant and public volunteers. There are 11 rooms in those buildings.
The construction of the transmission line in Sankhuwasabha and Dhanusha has not been completed due to the dispute over the construction of the 400 kV Arun III hydroelectric transmission line. Out of the seven districts where the transmission line will be extended, the work has started in six districts after distribution of compensation, but the work could not be started in Sankhuwasabha due to the dispute over the route of the transmission line. After the work of electricity transmission was interrupted with the public complaints related to transmission lines, the District Coordination Committee has organised a discussion programme with various stakeholders, including representatives of project developers, all political parties in the district, and citizens of the affected areas.

The 132 kV double-circuit transmission line from Yogikuti (Butwal) to Mainhiya was constructed to improve power supply in the Bhairahawa area of Rupandehi and to control technical leakage. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal is scheduled to inaugurate the transmission line project on Monday.The Nepal Electricity Authority has already charged the 18-km Butwal-Lumbini transmission line from Butwal substation to Mainhiya substation and brought it into operation since July this year.The new infrastructure can transmit about 200 megawatts of electricity.A substation of 132/33/11 kV has been constructed in Mainhiya. There are two power transformers of 45 MVA capacity-- 33/11 kV and 16 MVA power transformers in the substation.Hari Prasad Pandey, chief of the project, said that with the commissioning of the transmission line, the electricity supply in Butwal, Bhairahawa area will be improved and the NEA will be able to provide as much electricity to industries as they require.According to the project, about 60 megawatts of electricity has been supplied to the industries and general people in the Bhairahawa area.However, the demand for electricity from the industrial sector alone is 90 MW. The project is planned to supply 90 megawatts of electricity immediately with the completion of the project. Later, if the demand increases, 200 MW electricity can be supplied from Mainhiya substation, said the NEA.Work to expand the transmission line has started for expansion and upgrading of electricity in Bhairahawa after the construction at Gautam Buddha International Airport began, in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha and Bhairahawa-Lumbini Industrial Corridor.The initial work of the transmission line project had begun in the fiscal year 2070-071 B.S. There was some delay in the construction of the project due to route change and COVID-19 pandemic and other reasons.A 132 kV double-circuit transmission line is being constructed from Mainhiya substation to India's Uttar Pradesh. The construction of the transmission line connecting Mainhiya substation to Sampatiya (New Nautanuwa) substation in Uttar Pradesh, India is in the final stage.At present, Uttar Pradesh has only 33 kV transmission infrastructure, after the construction of Mainhiya-Sampatiya, cross-border electricity trade between Nepal and India will become easier.
