Madhes Province has emerged as the leading hub for real estate activity in Nepal, recording the highest number of property transactions over the past three fiscal years. This finding comes from a recent trend analysis based on data from the Department of Land Management Archives (DOLMA), Inland Revenue Department, and Nepal Rastra Bank made public on Monday. Nepal Rastra Bank has started publishing statistics on real-estate trends using the fiscal year 2022/23 as the base year.

The number of tourists visiting Rara, the largest lake in Nepal, has increased as the summer season approaches. The summer season is considered the most suitable season to visit Rara. According to the Rara National Park Office, the number of tourists visiting Rara during this season is significantly higher as the weather from April to June is suitable. Bishnu Babu Shrestha, the head of the Park office, informed that the data show that 11,525 domestic and foreign tourists visited Rara by the end of February of the current fiscal year. Krishna Hari Khanal, visiting Rara from Surkhet, said that he found the weather in Rara totally different and beautiful during this season
Following inconvenience in accessing Pokhara International Airport, Pokhara Metropolitan City has decided to operate free electric shuttle buses in the area. Passengers have complained that taxi operators charge exorbitant fares for travel from the airport, which lies approximately two kilometres off the Prithvi Highway. With no alternative public transport available and taxi services being costly, the metropolitan city is set to introduce a comfortable electric shuttle bus service between the airport and Amarsingh Chowk. According to information officer Krishna Prasad Tiwari, the service will commence from the New Year and will remain free of charge for passengers until mid-July. “The buses will operate in coordination with the airport administration, particularly during flight arrivals and departures,” he said.
Public Service Commissions in all seven provinces of the country have agreed to adopt a common set of principles and standards. The decision was made at the Sixth National Conference of Public Service Commissions, which concluded in Pokhara on Monday. The conference resolved to approve and soon make public the “Principles and Standards of Public Service Commission 2082".
