Twenty-four women representatives from Koshi province, 14 from Madhes province, 12 from Bagmati province, 11 from Gandaki province, 36 from Lumbini province, 16 from Karnali province and 15 from Sudurpaschim province had filed application for the Icon. Jury members—Astalaxmi Shakya (political sector), Sari Joshi (social sector) and Charu Changa (media sector) had shortlisted the best applicants from every province. Four women representatives have been shortlisted from Koshi province, two from Madhes province, four from Bagmati, three from Gandaki, seven from Lumbini, four from Karnali and three from Sudurpaschim province for voting. Women making notable contribution in different areas—women health, women entrepreneurship, policy and justice, empowerment and accountability would be honoured. Chairperson of the Kalpa Empower Women Nepal, the organizing committee, Puja Koirala, said they have expected participation of more than 3,000 people in the programme.
