Bad road engineering puts school, village at landslide risk
Arkhala village in Bulingtar Rural Municipality-4 of Nawalpur district is an old Magar settlement. It is 927 metres above sea level and is touched by the East-West Highway. Buildings of Setinag Secondary School which stand on the top of a hill at a corner of Arkhala village are at high risk as there are landslides everywhere around the hill down. The school could collapse at any time as landslips are continuously pulling down the hills from three directions.
NEPSE index reaches 2060 points, daily turnover Rs. 6.86 billion
The benchmark of the share market index, NEPSE, posted double-digit growth on Monday, the second trading day of the week. The NEPSE index increased by 38.14 points (1.88 per cent) and closed at 2060.49 points on Monday.
