Work to repair the canal of the Hildum small hydropower project, which was damaged by recent landslides, have started with public donations. Since it was not possible to arrange the immediate budget for the repair, the work started with the participation of the local administration, security personnel, and political parties in the district. Sajan Aidi, head of Hilduum Hydropower Distribution Centre, said that the work of repairing the 40-meter-long canal damaged by a landslide has started with public donations. “The Centre had earlier started the repair works on the canal but a landslide swept away its overflow section when the work was in progress. As arranging budget right away was impossible but the power supply had to be resumed by Tihar, the repair work has begun with labour donation,” he said.
