The textbooks were handed over under the Korean Language Promotion Programme, launched by the King Sejong Foundation in 2012, to promote global understanding of the Korean language through literature.

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal handed over 600 basic Korean Language books for around 15 high schools' grade 9 to 12 students in Nepal.

Gambhir Gurung, principal of Future English High School, Rupandehi and Park Tae-young, Ambassador of South Korea to Nepal, as well as the Embassy diplomats, attended the programme.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Park said that the Embassy has been actively organising various programmes to promote Korean language exchanges between Nepal and Korea.

He noted that continued cooperation would further strengthen bilateral ties and elevate relations between the two nations to new heights.
