The corridor is considered to be lifeline of the Gandaki province.

Tejaswi Sharma, project chief, informed that Rs. 3 billion 150 million has been ensured by the finance ministry to blacktop the 40.2 km road section stretching from Chhusang of Baragung Muktichhetra Rural Municipality and Ghami of Loghekar Damodar Kund Rural Municipality.

"Resource has been ensured, and tender for construction process will start within this fiscal year," said project chief Sharma.

Yogesh Gauchan, HoR member from Mustang district, said that the blacktopping of the road will make the travel to Korala, border point with China, easier.

Started in 2017 June with a target to complete in a decade, the 202 km long Beni-Jomsom-Korala road section stretches from Kushma Municipality-1 to Korala border point in Mustang. The road section is a part of the 435 km long Kali Gandaki corridor that connects India and China through Nepal.
