Kathmandu, May 12: The Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested two people on the charge of making question papers and answers public ahead of exams.
The arrested are Nirajan Shahi, 37, a resident of Birendranagar Municipality-8, Surkhet, currently residing in Subidhanagar, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32, and Prem Kumar Shrestha, 30, a resident of Nilkantha Municipality-3, Dhading, currently residing in Budhanilkantha Municipality-10, Kapan, Kathmandu, according to Cyber Bureau spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Dilip Kumar Giri.
Grade 12 question papers of exams conducted by the National Examination Board was leaked shortly before the start of the examination. Based on the technical analysis and investigation conducted, the duo was arrested on charges of violating the confidentiality of the question paper by creating various groups on WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, including those called only for Grade 12 management, and leaking the question paper along with the answers.
SP Giri said they were arrested from Chabahil, Kathmandu and remanded to custody by the Kathmandu District Court for an offense under the Electronic Transactions Act, 2063. (RSS)
