MP Pun calls on govt. to prioritize innovation and research

Kathmandu, May 12: Member of Parliament Mahabir Pun has urged the government to prioritize innovation and scientific research.

Speaking during special hour of the House of Representatives today, he shared about his effort to introduce an ordinance for innovation and development research when he was in the previous government, and called on the current government to make it a reality. 

He also demanded the formation of a separate ministry for science, technology, innovation and research. 

Lauding the current government's introduction of an ordinance related to universities to free education from politics, he suggested that the provision to have the Prime Minister as the Chancellor of Universities be scrapped. (RSS)
