Buddha's teachings give message of peace to world: Minister Khanal

Kathmandu, May 1: Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal has mentioned that the teachings and guidance of Lord Gautam Buddha gives a message of peace to the world. 

At a programme organised by Suryodaya Yog Mediation Centre at Tarkeshwor municipality-10 today on the occasion 2570th Buddha Jayanti, Minister Khanal expressed the belief that Buddha's message of peace, compassion and love would enlighten everyone's lives.  

He shared that it is the matter of pride for all of us as Nepalis that Nepal is the birthplace of Gautam Buddha, a symbol of world peace.  

The 2570th birth anniversary of Siddhartha Gautam, propounder of world peace, is being observed by organizing various events including worship across the country and beyond today. Buddha Jayanti is marked on Baishakh Shukla Purnima in the Lunar Calendar every year.  (RSS)
