By TRN Online, Kathmandu, April 30: A jeep accident in Thawang of Rolpa district has claimed the lives of 17 people, police confirmed.
The vehicle, traveling from Rukum (East), met with the accident at Jaljala in Thawang Rural Municipality-1, Rolpa district.
Spokesperson of the District Police Office, Rolpa, Police Inspector Sunil Thapa, said that the jeep (Lu 1 Jha 4167) veered some 800 meters down a cliff from the road, causing a fatal accident.
Inspector Thapa said that the rain has created a hassle in the rescue operation.
Rescue operations are currently underway, according to Nepal Police.
