By Siraj Khan, Nepalgunj, April 29: Outpatient Department (OPD) services at Bheri Hospital in Nepalgunj have resumed after police arrested a man accused of threatening doctors, hospital officials said.

The disruption began following the death of Dilsara BK, of Baijanath-6, during treatment at the hospital. Her relatives staged protests, accusing doctors of negligence and issuing threats.

Although both sides had initially agreed to pursue legal procedures regarding the death, tensions escalated when the deceased’s nephew, Kushal Dalami, allegedly threatened doctors.

Citing safety concerns, medical staff halted OPD services as part of a protest.

According to Hospital Chief Dr Nirajan Subedi, services resumed after police detained Dalami on Wednesday and initiated legal action against him.

Following the end of the protest, the hospital administration issued a notice tightening restrictions on photography and videography within the premises.

It stated that no photos or videos can be taken without prior permission.

The hospital has also demanded the immediate arrest and legal action against others involved in assaulting or mistreating medical staff.
