Car driver killed in car-truck collision

By Bom Lal Giri, Nawalpur, April 28: A person died in the car-truck collision at Chormara road section in Madhyabindu Municipality-7 along the east-west highway this afternoon.

Anil Pandit, information officer and DSP at the Nawalpur district police office, said that the car driver, Dipu Gurung, 33, of Pokhara Metropolis-26, succumbed to injuries while under treatment at provincial hospital at Danda.

The accident occurred when the rice-laden truck Lu 1 Kha 9580 heading to Kawasoti from Dumkibas and a car Ga Pra. 01-001 Cha 0474 coming from opposite direction hit each other at the Hariyali Jungle area in Madhyabindu Municipality-7.

The police has arrested driver of the truck which hit the car, Mahendra Kurmi, 44, of Sehari Rural Municipality-1 of Rupandehi.
