Taplejung, Apr. 10: Snowfall has occurred again in the Pathibhara area, a renowned pilgrimage site in Taplejung. Snow fell in the area, which lies at an altitude of 3,794 metres, following rainfall on Wednesday evening.

The rain that began in the evening continued until Thursday morning. Continuous rainfall brought fresh snowfall, covering the Pathibhara temple area in white. According to Rajendra Mahat, an employee at the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, snowfall persisted until Thursday morning.

Mahat said that although the area has been blanketed in snow, conditions are not as harsh as during the winter season. While snowfall and rain have made trekking and queuing for worship of Pathibhara Temple somewhat inconvenient, problems such as extreme cold and altitude sickness are less severe at this time.

Despite ongoing snowfall, a significant number of devotees have been visiting the shrine. According to the committee, pilgrims have continued to arrive since early Thursday morning, standing in queues with umbrellas to offer prayers. The Pathibhara area had experienced snowfall several times in the past as well.
