First successful C-section performed in Kalikot

Kalikot, March 20: The first successful cesarean section was performed in Kalikot in the District Hospital. A woman from Khandachakra Municipality in the district gave birth to a baby through a C-section on March 19.     

The hospital stated that the health condition of the new mom and baby is normal. The doctors in the hospital said that the successful completion of the cesarean section amid limited resources was a great achievement.     

The Chief of Kalikot Hospital, Dr Ratna Bir Sunar, said the untiring efforts of the medical team brought this result. "We performed the successful cesarean section in a successful manner. This is a great achievement in the context of this district," Dr Sunar added.     

Dr Sunar, Dr Darshan Pandey, Anesthesia Assistant Bir Bal Chaudhary and nursing team members Babita Thakur, Kabita Shahi, and assistant Chanda Shahi successfully performed the job, according to the hospital.     

The hospital also shared that this was a major milestone for the expansion of the health care services in the remote areas of the Karnali Province.(RSS)
