By Binay Karna, Kalyanpur, March 20: 23 Indian nationals have been rescued from a brick kiln located at Dakneshwori Municipality of Saptari district.
Human Rights Commission Madhesh Province Office, Janakpur, has rescued 23 Indian nationals from Asam, India, working at the Baba Dharmaraj (BDR) owned by Raju Sah located at Pathargada of Dakneshwori Municipality-9.
The site was taken stock of following a complaint registry online about forced labor and exploitation, where the situation was revealed, and the laborers were rescued, according to the Chief of Human Rights Commission, Madhesh Province Office, Janakpur, Buddha Narayan Sahani.
He said that in collaboration and coordination with the District Police Office, Saptari, the commission team rescued 23 Indian national workers who had come to work in the industry through contractors and brought them to Janakpur.
Of the total 23 rescued, 12 are females, seven are males, and four are children.
Human Rights Commission Madhesh Province Office, Janakpur, said that after completing the process, the Indian workers will be handed over to their families and legal action will be taken against the brick factory operators.
