RSP’s Panthi wins narrow victory in Gulmi-2

By Tilachan Pandey, Gulmi, March 7: Govinda Panthi of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has been elected to the House of Representatives from Gulmi Constituency-2, defeating CPN-UML Vice President Gokarnraj Bista by a slim margin of 496 votes.

Panthi secured 16,878 votes, while Bista received 16,382 votes.

Bista had been a consistent winner in this constituency for several terms, having only lost once in 2064 BS, making Panthi’s victory a notable upset.
