By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Feb 15: Ujyalo Nepal Party (UNP) has made public the party's commitment paper in relation to the upcoming election to the House of Representatives (HoR) scheduled for March 5.
Stating that the UNP has been established for good
governance, prosperity and social justice, the commitment paper lays out the
party's development targets in five and ten year time frame in different
sectors.
This commitment paper presents a clear roadmap for
turning the economy to production and employment expansion while maintaining
zero tolerance on corruption, read the UNP's election manifesto.
It has also proposed to cut number of HoR members to
201, provincial members to 330, federal ministries to 15 and the provincial
ministries to 5/7. The UNP has also proposed for directly elected chief
ministers in the provinces.
The party has laid special focus on east-west
railways and Kerung to Kathmandu to Raxual railways while increasing
electricity generation so as to export and earn foreign currencies.
One of the extraordinary target of the UNP is
related to generating 4.5 million employment in a period of five years in
hydro, agriculture, tourism, IT, industry, infrastructure, health and sports
sectors.
