Fishing net catches gun, bullets in Phewa Lake

By Phadindra Adhikari, Lekhnath, Feb 13: A gun and ammunition have been found in Phewa Lake after becoming caught in a fishing net cast in the lake at Khapaudi, Ward No. 18 of Pokhara Metropolitan City.

Kumar Jalari, 42, a resident of Khapaudi, cast his net on Thursday evening when an SLR rifle and the bullets used in it became entangled in the net.

Police deployed from the Nepal Police Provincial Office in Pokhara, the District Police Office Kaski and the Ward Police Office, Baidam, confirmed the recovery of one SLR bearing registration number Mu Wa 111 (Bat) and body number 13810.

Hari Bahadur Basnet, spokesperson for the District Police Office Kaski, stated officers recovered 18 rounds of ammunition loaded for the same weapon from the net.

Security personnel have taken the firearm and ammunition into custody and have launched an investigation.
