Kathmandu, Feb 12: Prime Minister Sushila Karki took stock of the election preparation and security arrangement in Solukhumbu district on Thursday.
PM Karki held discussions with government officials and locals at Namche and Salleri of Solukhumbu.
Chief returning officer in Salleri, Chandra Kumar Pokharel, Chief District Officer Leela Kumari KC, Lieutenant Colonel Bijay Prakash Angdambe, DSP Manoj Kunwar, DSP (Armed Police Force) Suraj Pandey and local level representatives attended the discussions with PM Karki.
Chief returning officer Pokharel and CDO KC briefed the PM on election preparation, while chiefs of the security agencies informed that there was no security threat nor had any potential of adverse weather in the district.
PM Karki expressed happiness over the preparation made so far for the election. "This election has a historic importance. We're in a critical moment at present. So, we must accomplish our responsibility successfully," she said, reminding that the election would be held on the slated date, March 5, and in the single phase across the country.
PM Karki had a similar visit to Bhojpur in this regard. She acquired information from the chiefs of security agencies from there too.
