By Hari Krishna Sharma, Mustang, Feb 10: Regular security patrols are being carried out in the high Himalayan region of Mustang for the March 5 House of Representatives (HoR) election.

In line with the integrated election security plan, routine patrols are being conducted from bases in Thurlung Phant of Lomanthang Rural Municipality in Upper Mustang and from the district headquarters, Jomsom, to ensure that the election is held in a clean, free, fair, and fear-free manner.

Chief District Officer Ajita Sharma said that the Indra Box Battalion of the Nepal Army and the Armed Police Force Nepal have established election security bases and are carrying out election-focused activities along with regular patrols.

“All three tiers of the security agencies have begun election-related activities, and the district security committee is taking all necessary measures to ensure that the Mustang election is conducted peacefully,” CDO Sharma said.
