Four dead, six injured in Ramechhap bus mishap

Ramechhap, Feb.10: Four died when a bus met with an accident near Manthali, the district headquarters of Ramechhap district.

According to the District Police Office, Ramechhap, Deputy Superintendent of Police Bhola Bhatt, six people, including the bus driver, have been injured in the accident.

The Araniko Yatayat bus, which was traveling from Kathmandu to Okhaldhunga, veered off the road at Masantar in Manthali Municipality–6, Ramechhap, and plunged about 50 meters down into the Tamakoshi River.

DSP Bhatt said rescue efforts are facing difficulties as the bus has sunk into the river. 

Some of the injured who have been rescued have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Detailed information about the incident is yet to be ascertained. (Translated from RSS)
