By Fadindra Adhikiri, Lekhnath, Dec 4: The two bridges built over Bijaypur river that links Pokhara Municipality ward no. 13 and 26 have been remained unused.
The suspension bridge build a decade ago linking Dhalke and Jhaurikhet have remained unused.
The bridge remained unused as the land on the both sides of the bridge belong to private land.
As the suspension bridge which remained idle, one more bridge which was built in near distance using concrete also have remained unused.
In that concrete bridge, way towards ward no. 13 is open but there is no way forward to go towards ward no. 26 from the bridge.
There is a private land near the river.
Former Chief Minister Khagraj Adhikiri had inaugurated the bridge in 12 April 2023.
The bridge was built with the budget of Rs 3.38 million allocated by the infrastructure development office of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure of Gandaki Province.
Grider is recently installed in the bridge. The bridge would be alternative to handle the pressure of Bijaypur river if the bridge come into operation.
The budge was allocated during the tenure of former Minister of Physical Infrastructure of the Gandaki Province Ramsharan Basnet.
The bridge over Draudi river linking Gorkha Municipality ward no.3 and Jarebar, Siranchowk Municipality ward no. 5 was built without exit route. The bridge is located at home district of Basnet.
The local complained that the bridge was built without consultation.
The local resident Mankumari Nepali said building road to the bridge would lead to destroy her house.
She said that , “If the road is expanded my house will be destroyed however I am ready left the land for road if sufficient compensation is provided”.
Mankumai said that there was huge expense for husband treatment who is suffering from kidney problem.
