Govt's main aim to hold election on stipulated time: Home Minister Aryal

By Avinash Chaudhary, Dhangadhi, Dec 2: Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal has said that the main objective of this government is to hold fair and malpractice-free elections on time.

Inaugurating a provincial-level security seminar organized by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Sudurpaschim Provincial Government in Dhangadhi today, Home Minister Aryal said that the government is working to hold the elections on time.

He said that after the demands raised by the GenZ Youth and the incidents of September 8 and 10, the Government of Nepal and the Ministry of Home Affairs are working sincerely for peace, security, crime control, good governance, service delivery, and effectiveness.

The Home Minister said that although the functioning of security forces and daily administrative work were affected following Genz movement, everything has now returned to normal.

He said, "The security situation has also returned to normal. I would like to thank everyone for their efforts, cooperation, and constructive suggestions."

Stating that elections are inevitable in a democratic system, Home Minister Aryal mentioned that the government is committed to implementing the law as there are some psychological challenges in the preparation for the elections.

He said that the government is committed to preventing and controlling violence and chaos and is mobilizing mechanisms accordingly.

The Home Minister said, "I would like to appeal to all political parties and citizens that the responsibility of building the country lies with everyone."

Chief Minister of the province Kamal Bahadur Shah, Minister of Internal Affairs and Law Hira Singh Sarki, among others, spoke, at the seminar. 

The security meeting is attended by the Home Secretary, the heads of all four security agencies, and the Chief District Officers of all nine districts.
