Kathmandu, Nov 23: Of the total 18 disaster-borne incidents that occurred across the country on November 8, 15 were fire-related incidents.
Just a day before, out of 19 disaster incidents that took place in the country 15 were fire incidents, according to National Disaster for Risk Reduction Management Authority (NDRRMA). Fires caused significant damage to physical property in Makawanpur, Chitwan, Kaski and Kailali.
Two people were injured due to the disaster and the estimated damage was Rs 5.37 million.
Some of the incidents of the fire have been caused by carelessness, while in some cases, there has been an electrical short circuit.
Due to lack of public awareness and negligence, incident of fire has been taking place regularly and causing significant damage to life and property. As a result, the NDRRMA has urged people to exercise caution when lighting fires and using flammable materials.
Stating that even by adopting simple precaution physical assets generated with great effort can be protected, the Authority has urged everyone to exercise caution and take necessary precautions. (RSS)
