Chitwan, Nov 21: A total of 210 kilometers of roads in Bharatpur Metropolitan City have been equipped with smart lighting. The city has announced the installation of 16 'High Mast' and 75 'Mini Mast' lights at key intersections, completed in two phases.
As part of the 'Bright City Bharatpur' initiative, the metropolitan city, in partnership with the Nepal Electricity Authority, has successfully installed six thousand lights along highways and local roads, according to Metropolitan City Mayor Renu Dahal.
She noted that the lights have been installed on highways, auxiliary highways, access roads, ward boundary roads, and other strategically significant routes with heavy traffic. The project was executed in two phases at a total expenditure of Rs 350 million.
Mayor Dahal further emphasized that the 'Bright City Bharatpur' campaign aims to enhance nighttime security for both local and international visitors.(RSS)
