By Shiv Shankar Mishra, Kalaiya, Sept 20: A curfew order has been issued today as the situation has become tense in the Simara area of Bara.
The district administration has imposed curfew in Jeetpursimara Sub-Metropolitan City in Bara district from 1 PM to 8:00 PM today.
The curfew area has been imposed with Simara as the center, extending north to Pathlaiya and south to Lalka bridge in Jitpur.
According to the Assistant Chief District Officer of the District Administration Office, Bara, Chhabiraman Bhattarai, the situation became tense after clashes erupted between the UML youths and the Gen Z.
He said that the curfew has been imposed to not further escalate the already tense situation.
During the clash, there was a minor scuffle and stone-pelting.
District Police Office, Bara, said that it has taken two people into custody and initiated the necessary investigation and search for any other involved.
Security agencies have mobilized a large group of security officials in the areas near the incident.
Locals are urged not to step out of the house till deemed necessary.
The administration has urged everyone to remain calm and cooperate to maintain peace and security.
Those arrested have been identified as 40-year-old Dhan Bahadur Shrestha of Jitpur Simara Sub-metropolitan City-2 and 34-year-old Kaimuddin Ansari of Jitpur Simara-6 of the same place.
Superintendent of Police Santosh Tamang of the Chief of the Area Police Office, Bara, said that they were arrested after the complaint was filed against them at the Area Police Office, Simara.
He said, "Samrat Upadhyay, who filed the complaint, has claimed that he was targeted and attacked in a planned manner."
