Stance to reinstate parliament may lead to political mishap: PM Karki

By TRN Online, Kathmandu, Nov 19: Prime Minister Sushila Karki has made it clear that any political stance to reinstate the parliament may lead to  political mishap as in the past.

Appealing to the political parties to focus on the election scheduled for March 5, PM Karki argued that running away from election is not an option for forces that believe in democracy.

The Prime Minister said so while addressing an all party meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singh Durbar, today afternoon.

The PM highlighted that the government was firmly committed to holding elections in a fair, peaceful and free environment.

But, even after the announcement of election, confusion in some political parties, demand to reinstate parliament and questioning the legitimacy of the government can push the country to a cycle of uncertainty, said the PM.

To take stance for reinstating parliament proves efforts to repeat political accident of the past, said PK Karki, now we must focus of political discourse of constitutional way out that means the election.

Saying that the political parties were the carriers of democracy, election could not be imagined without the participation and support from political parties.

She urged the political parties to get registered in the election commission for the poll as stipulated.
