Rakshya Panta crowned Mrs Nepal

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Nov. 17: Rakshya Panta from Butwal has won the title of Mrs Nepal World, the biggest beauty pageant for married women, held in Kathmandu on Saturday.

Panta claimed the prestigious title by surpassing 24 contestants. 

Panta is the sister of actress Surakshya Panta. 

Her thoughtful response to the judge's question in the final round impressed the audience and judges alike. 

 She also won the KD Photography Most Photogenic subtitle. With the main title, she received a scooter and the opportunity to represent Nepal at Mrs World 2026, which will be held in the United States.

In the same event, Sanju Bhatt became Mrs Nepal International and also secured the Central Fashion School Fashion Icon subtitle. 

Likewise, Deepika Tamang earned the title of Ms Nepal International.

In the Mrs Nepal World category, Bidhya Chauhan became the first runner-up and received the Viewer’s Choice and Facebook Choice awards.

 Elina KC was announced as the second runner-up and won the Cute Care Best Hair award, while Nirmala Sunuwar became the third runner-up and was honored with the Sabitri Kanchenjunga Best Dancer title.

 The winners of Mrs Nepal International and Ms Nepal International will represent Nepal in their respective international competitions in Singapore.

On the same occasion, actress, storyteller, and lyricist Pooja Chand was honoured with the honorary Mrs Nepal World 2025 title for her nearly three and a half decades of contribution to Nepali cinema, as well as to the fields of art, culture, and literature.

The panel of judges included former IGP Sarbendra Khanal, actor and director Saroj Khanal, actress Sunny Rauniyar, Mrs Nepal World 2023 Prithiviya Thapa, glamour photographer Rajbhai Suwal, and actor, choreographer, writer, and film producer Gajit Bishwokarma, along with general physician Dr. Kurt.
