14.31 billion rupees flows out of country for overseas education

By TRN Online, Kathmabdu, Sept. 16: An amount equivalent to Rs 14.31 billion has been sent abroad for studies in just the first month of the current fiscal year.

Despite the presence of well-equipped universities, colleges and other educational institutions within the country, the number of students going abroad for studies is increasing instead of decreasing. 

According to the details released by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) on Monday, the expenditure on education is slightly lower than last year.

 In the first month of the current fiscal year, Rs 14.31 billion was spent on education, compared to Rs 14.96 billion in the same period in the last fiscal year.

In the first month of the current fiscal year, travel expenditure under the services account decreased by 2.8 percent to Rs 21.7 billion. Similarly, travel expenditure in the same period of the previous year was Rs 22.32 billion. (Translated from RSS)
