By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Sept. 14: The Independent Power Producers Association, Nepal (IPPAN) has expressed its commitment to move forward in collaboration with the new interim government for the development of the energy sector.
Congratulating Sushila Karki on being appointed as the Prime Minister of the interim government of Nepal after the Gen-Z movement, IPPAN said that it will move ahead joining hands with the government for economic development.
President Ramchandra Paudel on Friday appointed former Supreme Court Chief Justice Karki as interim Prime Minister.
Expressing happiness that Karki, who has carried out her responsibilities as Chief Justice successfully, has been appointed as the first female Prime Minister in the history of Nepal, IPPAN expects Karki's tenure to be golden for energy entrepreneurs who are investing amidst various problems and challenges with high morale that the country's prosperity can be achieved through the energy sector, which is considered essential for every sector.
President of IPPAN Ganesh Karki said that they expect the new interim government to create an investment-friendly environment in the changed situation and to encourage the private sector.
"We expect the new interim government to create an investment-friendly environment. In the current situation, we are ready to collaborate and move ahead with the government through maximum investment in the journey of economic prosperity along with the reconstruction of the country," he said.
President Karki said that the new interim government expects energy entrepreneurs to take the lead in solving the problems and challenges currently faced by them for energy development and expansion.
He said that private sector is contributing to energy security in the nation and is ready to give even more in the coming days.
Meanwhile, National Business Initiative (NBI) wished for a successful and historic tenure of the interim government led by Sushila Karki. It said that it is ready to cooperate for the country’s prosperity.
“Amidst the current political changes and social movements, the private sector is committed to working with the government to promote economic stability, create employment, and encourage entrepreneurship,” it said in a statement.
It also expressed optimism that collective efforts will lead the country towards prosperity and social harmony.
According to it, the recent youth movement has brought to light the country's democratic consciousness, youth participation, and expectations for social justice.
“We believe that the newly formed cabinet will listen to the voices of the people, address the aspirations of the youth, ensure an end to corruption and promote good governance, create an environment that fosters inclusive and sustainable economic development, and successfully conclude the upcoming parliamentary elections,” read the statement.
