Rawoo's solo art exhibition concludes

blog

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 30: A solo exhibition of the artworks of Runveer Rawoo, a fine artist from Mauritius, concluded at Gallery MCube in Chakupat, Lalitpur, on Friday.

The solo exhibition named ‘Introspection: A conscious Art Movement’ started on August 24 amid an inaugural function.

Hundreds of art lovers visited the gallery to observe his artworks. According to Rawoo, he got overwhelming appreciations and positive feedbacks from the visitors.

The artist has been in the capital to participate in the Air MCube International Artists’ Residence-2025. The artists created the exhibited paintings during his stay at the international artists’ residence at Gallery MCube.

Rawoo has walked his unconventional journey in the art field, transitioning from a background in the science field to a career defined by his artistic creativity, teaching, and spiritual inquiry.

After his early education in Mauritius, Rawoo pursued fine arts at the College of Art in New Delhi, India. There, he sharpened his skills and widened his perspectives as an artist in a vibrant community of artists.

His dedication was recognised with a Gold Medal in Art, an achievement that marked him as a rising talent. Returning home, he embraced a dual career as both art educator and practicing artist.

A major turning point came in 2017, when Rawoo encountered the teachings of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and was deeply influenced by the global Save Soil movement. This experience led him to connect his artistic practice with ecological awareness and spirituality.

Experimenting with art materials directly resourced from nature like mud, glue, turmeric, kumkum, and other organic pigments, Rawoo redefined his artistic process.

His artworks embody a mixture of ritualistic depth and environmental urgency, reflecting both the sacred traditions of the past and the pressing ecological challenges of the present.

Rawoo’s paintings resonate with the echoes of modern masters while retaining their own distinctive voice. A striking interplay between the simplicity of childhood and the depth of ideas emerges, allowing the works to oscillate between intimacy and universality.
