Preparations for open Teej song in full swing

By Our Correspondent,Butwal, Aug. 26: The G Twenty-Five Club, a leading organisation in social work based in Butwal, has intensified preparations for the open Teej song programme to be held at Devinagar.

On the occasion of the great festival of Hindu women, Hartalika Teej, the club has been organising a Teej programme every year at Chaupari in Butwal-11.

The club, which has 56 lifetime members, is organising the 9th edition of the Teej song programme this time. According to the club president Jagdish Neupane,  arrangements have been made in an organised manner, including tents, drinking water, security, and musical performances, with an expected participation of around 40,000 to 50,000. According to the club’s general secretary, Kishor Pangeni, the Teej song programme, held on the main road of the Chaupari area, will be inaugurated by Lumbini Provincial Assembly member Jamuna Dhakal.

Since women play a significant role in preserving the originality and culture of Teej, the programme has been prepared grandly to make them happy, said programme coordinator Tejendra Khanal.

For programme preparations, committees have been formed for publicity, medical desk, volunteers, drinking water, tents, and subcommittees of volunteers. 


The club has stated that 90 per cent of the preparations have been completed.
