By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu, Aug. 26: Directors Sajan Kafle and Akash Baral are set to make a new film titled Zero Degree. The film was announced on Monday, accompanied by the release of a minimal poster under the banner of Meghauli Films.

Rajan Bhusal writes the story, while the directors themselves have penned the screenplay and dialogues.

According to the film unit, Zero Degree revolves around the chaos that unfolds in a remote village without proper roads when the parents of a family pass away, and their children, who are living abroad, have to return.

In order to preserve the bodies until their arrival, villagers carry a deep freezer all the way into the village, sparking a mix of drama and humour.

The directors said that the film is not only about transporting a fridge to the village but is also a light-hearted comedy. Actor Bijay Baral will play the lead role in the film.

Although Baral has long been active in the film and drama industry, he rose to fame after the history-making film Purna Bahadur Ko Sarangi. His latest film, Janai Harayeko Manchhe, is currently screening in theatres.

Baral wrote on social media, “I have got the opportunity to collaborate again with director and writer Akash Baral and Sajan Kafle. Earlier, I had the chance to work with them on their first film, Behuli from Meghauli, and that collaboration was successful. Now, through another project, Zero Degree, we are preparing to present it to the audience in the year 2083 BS.”

Moti Karki is the executive producer of Zero Degree.  According to the film unit, the shooting of the film will begin after Tihar, with plans for release next year. Distribution will be handled by Kuber Cine Distribution.
