By TRN Online, Kathmandu, May 1: CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has viewed that working class people constitute the bases and are the pioneers of the development of the society.
Addressing a
programme on International Workers Day today, the former Prime Minister also
pointed at the need of review of constitution as rights of the workers were yet
to be implemented although they were enshrined in the constitution. He said
there has been continuous movement for the welfare of the working class people
since 1951 when the Nepal Communist Party was established and that the People's
War that initiated in 1996 by the Maoist party was the latest and significant link
in the long chain of struggle.
He lamented
on being unable to control the anti-worker trend such as outsourcing, low wage
and contract practices.
The former Prime
Minister said that his government was toppled when it was doing a very good job.
Referring to
recently concluded Terai Madhes Awareness Campaign and its overwhelming
success, leader Prachanda said that the party had also succeeded in improving
its relations with the people, the working class.
He also urged
the working class people to be ready for a new movement for a system of executive
president and fully proportional election system.
