Ruling parties' meeting: Suggests to bring policies and programmes focusing on startup

Kathmandu, April 30: A meeting of political parties in the collation government today advised the government to bring policies and programmes capable for further strengthening democratic republic, bringing the economy to its track and instilling a ray of hope among the youths. 

The meeting held at Baluwatar, the Prime Minister's residence, stressed the need of preventing the resources going into waste by ensuring effectiveness, timeliness and high prioritization in the development endeavours, said CPN (UML)'s Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Kumar Gyawali. 

As he said, the government has been urged to focus on entrepreneurship, skill development, startups, enterprise development and market expansion so that the youth community is encouraged.

The meeting advised the government to remove unnecessary structures and to be strict in reducing unnecessary expenditures, focusing on the enhancement good governance and work efficiency and strengthening of external relations. 

President Ramchandra Paudel will be presenting the government's new policies and programmes for the upcoming fiscal year before the both houses of the Federal Parliament on Friday of May 2. Today's meeting was summoned by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to discuss on the matter.  

The leaders from the ruling parties have urged the government to collectively defend attacks on the existing system and to bring agricultural and livestock development programmes focusing on hills so as to correct the migration trend. 

In his response to journalists query, leader Gyawali said the talks between the government and the agitating teachers are underway, expressing his confidence that an atmosphere will be created to resume the community schools soon. 

Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chair Oli, Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, NC Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka, Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, UML's senior Vice Chair Ishwor Pokhrel, General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel, Deputy General Secretaries Gyawali and Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Nepal's Chair Mahantha Thakur and Janata Samajbadi Party's Chair Ashok Kumar Rai were among those attending the meeting.
