Kanchanpur, April 30: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has stressed on the need of preparing the basis for a strong national economy right from the local level.
Talking to media persons at the premises of Shovatal, a touristic place in local Belauri Municipality, today, he suggested the local levels to emphasize on agriculture, forest, health, education, employment and industry sectors to beef up the national economy.
He said, "If we can move forward by establishing industries based on agriculture, it will help the economy. Since the present era is the era of information technology, the IT sector should also be assimilated in the economy and moved forward.”
Stating the construction of the Mid-hill highway, which was started after the country became a republic, has reached the final stage, he said, adding that the construction of the Postal highway has also progressed.
"The narrative that nothing has happened in the country after it switched to republic is not right. A lot of development works and anti-corruption works have been carried out. However, the progress has not been to the extent the people had expected,” he said. (RSS)
