Mother and step-father arrested for murdering and burying their minor son

By Siraj Khan, Nepalgunj, Apr.30: Police have arrested a mother and stepfather for killing their nine-year-old son and burying his body underground.

According to the Area Police Office, Kohalpur, Yashoda Buda and her second husband, Niraknath Yogi, who were living in a rented room at Hariyali Marg, Kohalpur Municipality-11, have been arrested for allegedly murdering their nine-year-old son, Kushal Buda, and burying his body underground.

According to the Acting Chief of Area Police Office, Kohalpur, Resham Lal Poudel, the body of nine-year-old Kushal was recovered from underground. While investigating the case, it was revealed that Kushal's mother and stepfather killed Kushal and buried him underground. 

He said that the deceased Kushal's grandparents also filed a police complaint, alleging that his stepfather, Yogi, and mother, Yashoda Buda, had murdered the child and tried to hide the incident by burying the body underground. 

Buda and Yogi,  filed the case of a missing child on April 21, but showed no concern afterwards, raising suspicion from the police. Police investigated both parents and found their involvement in the murder. 

The police have presented both of them in front of the Banke District Court and have extended their remand by five days and are conducting further investigation, said Poudel, Acting Chief of the Area Police Office, Kohalpur.

The body of a nine-year-old boy, Kushal Buda, a student in grade three at Kohalpur Secondary School, was found buried underground in Naulapur, Baijnath Rural Municipality-4 of Banke, on Monday evening.

Local, who went for grazing in forest, found foul smell and a leg of child poking out from underground and called the police.
