35-year-old man dies after taking injection against jaundice

By Chandani Acharya, Ghodaghodi, April 28: A Resident of Ghodaghodi Municipality - 8, Kailali, Niraj Bahadur Shahi, died after taking an injection at the local medical on Monday. 

35-year-old Shahi reached Dahit Medical after having a headache on Monday morning. 

Eyewitness said that Medical's Lab assistant Mahabir Chaudhari gave an injection to Shahi, saying he had Jaundice, but suddenly Shahi died. 

Shahi was given an injection by Chaudhari since the medical operator, Indra Dahit, went to Kathmandu. 

Eyewitness Diaherria patient who also reached the same medical, Khadak Bahadur Saud said, "I was receiving saline, and Niraj was given an injection. Suddenly, he started coughing and became extremely serious. After which, Assistant Saud tried to give artificial respiration, but by then, Niraj had died." 

Dead Shahi's father-in-law, Ram Bahadur Shahi, said that his Son-in-law went to the medical after having breakfast together. 

"After taking breakfast and carrying children to school, he went medical complaining of having a headache. All of a sudden, we heard he was dead. There were no health complications. How did he die? Why assistant flee? We need justice." He said. 

Just after the death of Niraj, Lab Assistant Chaudhari fled. After the incident came to notice, 10 police team led by Area Police Office Sukhkhad Office Chief DSP Ramesh Awasthi was deployed at the incident place. Medical Operator Indra Awasthi informed that the search for Chaudhari is underway.
