Efforts underway for release of Bipin Joshi: Israeli Ambassador

By Nirajan Pariyar, Chaumala Kailali,Apr.28: Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Shmulik Ari Bash has said that he is working to ensure the safe return of Nepali student Bipin Joshi, who was kidnapped by Hamas.

Ten Nepali students were killed in an attack by the Hamas in Israel on 7 October 2023.

Eight of them were from the Sudur Paschim Provice. Bipin Joshi, who hails from Sudur Paschim Province, however, is still missing.

According to the embassy, the Israeli government is providing financial assistance to the families of the 

Nepali students, who were killed on Hamas attack.  

He said that Israeli citizens are still protesting with pictures of Bipin Joshi for his safe return.

Stating that the Israeli people know Bipin Joshi well, he said that the Israeli government is making efforts for his return.

Speaking to Gorkhapatra last Friday, Ambassador Bass said that he had urged the Israeli government to take initiatives for Bipin's speedy and safe release.

Noting that the Israeli government is also continuing to exert military pressure on Hamas, he expressed confidence that Hamas will be forced to release the hostages.
