By TRN Online, Kathmandu, April 27: Over two dozen people including a journalist and five police personnel have been injured in the scuffle between the agitating teachers and the police this afternoon in New Baneshwor area.
In the leadership of the Nepal Teachers Association, teachers have been
demonstrating for nearly a month here putting forth different demands including
immediate formulation of Education Act.
The police used force against agitating teachers as they tried to enter
the prohibited area, said Dinesh Kumar Acharya, spokesperson and deputy
inspector general (DIG) of Nepal Police.
He said details of 19 teachers who were injured and five police
personnel are yet to be received.
