‘Newal wo Nepal’ book on Newar culture and language launched

By A Staff Reporter,Kathmandu Apr. 6: Dr. Govinda Bol Shrestha's Nepalbhasa and English language book 'Newal wo Nepal' was released on Friday at the Nepalbhasa Academy, Kirtipur. 

The book was released by Yagya Ratna Dhakhwa, Patron of the Nepalbhasha Academy in a function. Releasing the book, Dhakhwa expressed his appreciation for the book's effort in capturing the geography and cultural heritage of the Newar community and Nepalbhasa.

Nepalbhasha Academy Chancellor Malla K. Sundar during the programme emphasised that the Newar community possesses a unique culture and tradition that define its civilization.

During the event, Dhakhwa and Malla were jointly honoured from the traditional Newari way, Betali.

Noor Kumar Tamrakar and Pushpa Lochan Shrestha presented their review of the book.
