Pokhara Mayor Acharya meets Luzhou counterpart, stresses on cooperation in health, education

Chengdu, March 21: Mayor of Pokhara Metropolis, Dhana Raj Acharya and Mayor of Luzhou municipal government of Sichuan province in China held a meeting on Friday.     

Mayor Acharya and his delegation are currently on an official visit of Luzhou at the invitation of the Luzhou mayor.     

During the meeting, Mayor Acharya highlighted the significance of centuries-old Nepal-China relations, describing China as a very good friend of Nepal.     

Pokhara and Luzhou have sisterly relations, he said, adding that operation of commercial flights between Pokhara and Sichuan has further contributed to strengthening the relations between the two cities.     

He expressed his hope of continuity of flights to Pokhara from China. Acharya also urged for enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of health, education, tourism and sports.     

In response, the Luzhou mayor expressed wiliness to cooperate with Pokhara in the areas of education, health, tourism, culture, agriculture and sports.(RSS)
