Manma (Kalikot), March 13: A 17-year-old died in a clash between two groups in Khandachakra municipality-10 in the district.
The dead is Rajesh Shahi of Chhapre of Tilagupha municipality-7.
Two groups of youths allegedly engaged in the scuffle had been there to observe the Ghar puja (housewarming) of a local.
It is said the incident took place at night, and Shahi was killed in a Khukuri (a traditional knife) attack.
Bhupendra Shahi, 16, was injured in the incident.
The incident site is 35 kilometres away from the district headquarters, Manma. According to the District Police, the security squad reached the area this morning, and it arrested five people for their alleged involvement in the incident. District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police, Tek Bahadur Rawat, led the team.
According to the office's information officer, Krishna KC, the body has been brought to the district headquarters for post-mortem examination. All the arrested are below 18. Further investigation into the case is underway. (RSS)
