Lumbini Buddhist University to establish Buddhist study centre in California

Lumbini, March 3: The Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU) has announced that it will establish a study centre in California USA.

The study centre is going to be established there in order to run Master level and short-term educational courses under the Faculty of Buddhist Studies.     

LBU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Subarna Lal Bajracharya announced this amidst a programme here today.     

At a programme organized to present certificates to students who arrived here from California to study short-term Buddhist education, he shared that a process for the admission of students would begin within a few weeks.     

The University has collaborated with Enlight International Zen Meditation Centre to run such an educational programme in California. Twenty-five students had arrived here from California for the short-term educational programme from the centre.     

Similarly, the Registrar of the University, Dr Tilak Ram Acharya, said an agreement for collaboration with more than 40 organisations has been signed for the expansion of international relations, adding the University would establish such study centres gradually to spread Buddhist education.     

Likewise, the Dean of the Buddhist Education Faculty, Manik Ratna Shakya mentioned that students have been attracted towards short-term educational programmes.     

The Head Nun of the International Zen Meditation Centre, California, shared that they were excited to get the opportunity to collaborate with Lumbini Buddhist University, adding they would further collaborate for the development of Buddhist education.(RSS)
