Kaski, March 2: More than 400
persons have been provided training on green jobs in Pokhara so that they could
recycle and upcycle the waste to generate money.
The beneficiaries are from all 33
wards of Pokhara metropolitan city.
A project relating to green job
through recycling and upcycling provided the skill-based training for a week,
according to Anil Lamichhane, secretary of the organizing institution.
In the training, the participants
were instructed how they could adopt sustainable waste management and create
green employment and generate money.
Types of waste, segregation of
waste, community's role, waste management, responsible use, 3R principle
(reuse, rescue and recycle) and commercial plan were the major highlights of
the training.
The project has aimed at creating
more than 600 green jobs through sustainable waste management by 2029 in
Pokhara. Similarly, it has provided public awareness on waste management.
Creation of 30 enterprises on
recycling and upcycling has been planned during the project. (RSS)
