26 model houses built for quake-affected families in Jajarkot, Rukum Paschim

Triveni (Rukum Paschim), Jan 22: Twenty-six model houses have been constructed for the earthquake-affected families in Jajarkot and Rukum Paschim.

A total of 26 earthquake-resistant model houses have been constructed in two districts under the Joint Recovery Project funded by the United Nations agencies and their partner organisations in the earthquake-affected areas. Similarly, five houses have been constructed with the funding by the British government.

Senior project associate at the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM), Sujit Gautam, informed that 14 houses have been constructed in Rukum Paschim and 12 in Jajarkot.

According to him, seven model houses have been constructed in Athabiskot municipality of Rukum West, two each in Sanibheri rural municipality and Chaurjahari municipality, and one each in Triveni and Banfikot rural municipalities and Musikot municipality. Gautam said the houses have been handed over to the earthquake-affected people of these local levels.

Similarly, four houses in Bheri municipality, two each in Nalgad municipality and Barekot rural municipality and one each in Shivalaya, Junichande, Kushe rural municipality and Chhedagad municipality have been handed over to the earthquake-affected families of these local levels in Jajarkot district.
